EV Charging

The last three years have seen a remarkable surge in demand for electric vehicles in the UK - new registrations of plug-in cars increased from 3,500 in 2013 to more than 75,000 at the beginning of August 2016. There has also been a huge increase in the number of electric and plug-in hybrid models available in the UK with each of the 10 best-selling brands in the UK now offering an EV as part of their model range.

As an increasing percentage of the country switch to hybrid and electrical vehicles, charging stations are more and more in demand.

EV charging points can be installed for businesses, at home or on a commercial basis including:

  • Shopping centres
  • Supermarkets
  • Offices
  • New build sites
  • Apartments
  • Individual homes

EV charging points are already a planning requirement in London, with the Electric Vehicle Delivery Plan stating that all new developments with five parking spaces or more must equip 20% of those spaces with electric car charging points.

For businesses providing company cars to employees, electric vehicles are an attractive option. Not only do they help demonstrate your environmental credentials to clients and shareholders, they're also cheaper to run and allow employees to make substantial savings on tax. Currently the benefit in kind (BIK) rate for electric vehicles is currently 0%, compared with 20% plus for some vehicles. For companies, the charge units themselves are inexpensive to run and require very little servicing. We can provide full design, installation and maintenance services for any size of commercial or office premises, as well as installing charge units at employees' homes.

As an accredited OLEV (Office of Low Emission Vehicles) home charge point installer, The Government will cover up to 75% of the total costs of having a home charge point installed by us.
